Members of the US Army Reserve Competitive Marksmanship Program competed at the 55th Annual Interservice Pistol Championships. The event is an American Conventional pistol match under NRA Outdoor Pistol and Civilian Marksmanship Program rules consisting of a 3600 point individiual aggregate of four pistols (.22, Centerfire, .45, and Service Pistol) with team matches. Hosted by the Army Marksmanship Unit on their home range at Fort Benning, the USAR team shooters once again put up a solid showing.
Starting with individual accomplishments, World Cup medalist SPC Nickolaus Mower led the USAR team with a string of top three finishes and a first place finish in the Ceterfire Rapid match.
SFC Keith Sanderson, also a World Cup medalist and Olympian, joined the team while enroute from the ISSF World Cup in Maribor, Slovenia. Even with his current focus on International Rapid Fire in preparation for the 2016 Olympics, Sanderson managed several top five finishes and took first in the Service Pistol Rapid match.
SSG Jon Rosene managed a string of top ten finishes and a solid top ten overall finish.
MSG Robert Kolesar also finished strong with a number of top ten finishes as well, as did SFC Kris Beerman.
For team events, USAR Black had a number of top three overall team wins, including second place Team .22 and third place Team Centerfire.
