Army Reserve Marksmanship Program conducts Northern Small Arms Championship Event

Members of the Army Reserve Marksmanship Program conducted a Mobile Training Team mission and held a north regional training event and Northern Small Arms Championship for Soldiers of the Army Reserve at Camp Perry on 31 May through 5 June.

Units that received training and coaching from the Mobile Training Team included the Army Reserve Careers Division, AR-MEDCOM, MIRC HQ, USACAPOC, 2POG, 350 CACOM, 351 CACOM; 352 CACOM; and 7POG, 256th CSH. “MTT events like this are open to all Reservists,” Event Coordination NCO SFC Paul Fleischer said.

Mobile Training Team missions combine small arms training, coaching from USARCMP competition shooter-instructors, qualification, and Excellence In Competition scored events that are recognized nationally. “Our goal with MTT missions is to obtain a 90 percent overall qualification rate, have our USARCMP team members conduct training and matches to share their skill and knowledge, and provide awards and recognition for top Reserve shooters,” said SGM James Mauer, USARCMP Service Rifle NCOIC. “At this event, overall qualification rate was 100% as every Soldier qualified on at least one weapon. 98 Soldiers qualified at a 100% go All on the M16 or the M9 was 100% for 98 competitors. Overall rifle qualification rate was 100% and 85% for pistol. In addition eight Soldiers earned Level 3 Rifle EIC points.”

100% of the Soldiers attending this USARCMP training event earned a qualification. SGT Jonathon Alman won the Rifle EIC Match and MSG Richard Baur was high overall. Overall Pistol Match winner was MAJ Brian Graves. SSG Rafael Fuentes was the overall match winner.
